Africa is such a diversity of culture and experiences that it’s often difficult to know where to begin. Its sheer scale and travel experience is second-to-none and there is a wide range of paths to take, including the world famous and simply stunning Pyramids at Giza.

You can choose to haggle with a merchant at one of the hundreds of markets in the north, travel through the wildest places on earth and view wildlife so spectacular, you’ll think it has to be a dream. You can relax on a mile-long, golden, sun-drenched beach or sit under Indian Ocean palm trees; you can even stay in some of the most exclusive hotels anywhere in the world. All of this combined with the warmth, welcoming and spirit of the African people will give you such an overwhelming experience, you’ll want to return over and over again.

Africa is not what you imagine, despite everything you will have learned, it is not full of civil wars, crime and violence; it is an amazing, awe-inspiring and welcoming continent where dreams really do come true.

To get a real sense of Africa, a favourite of ours is the Overland Safaris. An Overland is an affordable and exciting form of travel and allows you to meet like-minded people in a fantastic atmosphere. Accommodation is usually in tents but you can select to stay in budget hotels if you prefer. Tours are by custom built overland trucks suitable for many different terrains you will experience along the way. These Safaris can last from a couple of weeks to a few months.
