The Desert
This is one of the most mysterious places in the
world, where normal rules of life disappear. Stretching
out in front of you to the horizon, this mystical land is
awe-inspiring and it's vastness is second to none. You can
discover ancient Monastries, which in some places are still
inhabited far from civilisation. You will also find that
once you leave the oases the desert is clean with no files
and mosquitos to be seen. The Bedouin believe it's so clean
that if they cut their feet, they will often rub sand into
it as the sand is as bacteria free and clean as you can
get. The variety of the Egyptian Sahara is staggering, and
is the moct varied desert on the planet. Egypt itself is
around 95% desert land with the other 5% of lush fertile
land stretching out down the Nile.
The Nile
In pre-historic times, the Nile was a vast swamp
of rushes and weeds, but thanks to human intervention, it
now meanders through Egypt and green fields like a well
cultivated plain. You can choose to join one of the many
Nile Cruises which take you back through time to the Ancient
World.
Pyramids and Pharoahs
Egypt is awash with evidence of ancient civilisations,
pharoahs, tombs and historic sites. There is simply so much
to see that often one visit isn't enough. You can take in
the majestic and stunning Pyramids at Giza, or travel down
to Luxor, the site of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes.
Here you will find monuments, tombs, temples and the world-renowned
Valley of the Kings.
What else is there to do?
Of course, Egypt is not all about it's history.
You can go and take in a relaxing beach break with some
of the most golden beaches you will find anywhere. Or, for
the more adventurous there is the opportunity to do some
of the best diving in the world.
Whatever, you choose to do, Egypt is waiting for you with
all its hidden treasures.
