Duty of Care

Uni-Travel Ltd believes that a duty of care, both for its' employees and with its clients, is essential to the service it provides. Considering the possibility that organisations often travel to areas that may have specific and localised issues, Uni-Travel Ltd conducts a thorough risk analysis to fulfil duty of care obligations.

Organisations often send employees, students and groups to unfamiliar locations where they may encounter situations that present increased risk and threats to their health, safety and security. The key to providing an adequate duty of care policy is that Uni-Travel ensures steps are taken to identify and assess all foreseeable risks and negate these through a comprehensive risk management strategy.

One important process we undertake is to assess the foreseeable risks associated with a particular location, and to ensure this assessment is documented. Uni-Travel will then inform the client about the environment they are going to and inform them of their responsibilities when travelling. Our Duty of Care Policy emphasises the importance of being prepared and having plans in place for when things go wrong. It is essential that all foreseeable risks are assessed and communicated to the client.

We provide the following services to ensure we fulfil our obligations under this duty of care policy:
  • 24/7 365 days emergency contact assistance facility
  • Emergency 24/7 traveller tracking for major security or natural disaster
  • Pre-trip risk assessment
  • Pre-trip health and safety information
  • Travel security alerts
  • Assistance with visa applications where possible
  • Itineraries planned and double-checked and clearly communicated
  • Maintain travel data such as passport information, next-of-kin, travel preferences etc
Uni-Travel takes all steps to ensure our clients planned trips are well thought out, tracked and assistance is provided at all times so that we fulfil our obligations to the client.
